MIKEY IS FOUR! I cannot believe it! Anyway, my main inspiration for this party was honestly strolling the aisles of Target with Mikey. We went up and down the party section looking at all the decorations and that is when he decided on a space theme! I went ahead about bought a lot of decorations that day. The majority of the decorations are from Target and I grabbed a few things from Amazon as well. Then of course, I already had some items saved from past celebrations. I have linked everything I could or a similar option so you can gear up for your space party!!
The main feature was obviously the photo backdrop which I already had the black paper up from our little Halloween party. This paper is a must have for any party because it is so versatile! I also used it for table coverings, and it comes in different sizes and colors. I attached it to the wall with push pens. Then I cut the streamer backdrop and attached them randomly in clusters. Over the top of that, is the balloon arch. I used a balloon garland tape to make it easier to construct. Then I added the specialty balloons using twine and just strung them around the balloon garland. Lastly, I hung a Happy Birthday Banner then added CUTE little astronauts and a star!
Mikey was obviously an astronaut, so I’ve linked his costume. It would also make for a good Christmas gift! Stella was a star and I used a few things to make her shine bright!! My friend and I dressed up like stars as well but we think we turned out more like David Rose from Schitt’s Creek and we are totally good with that!!
Another fun idea was I turned our mini trampolines into launch pads using the same streamers and star garland!
I went simple on the desserts this year and just bought a few goodies to have them coordinate with the theme. The cupcake toppers were very cute and I used them on the cupcakes and on the brownies and cookies! Then I found some yummy sprinkles that were space themed on Amazon that I just added to our store-bought cupcakes (SHHH! Don’t tell anyone!).
I feel like I hit the high points but everything I used is linked here so feel free to take a look!
