It’s been awhile since I’ve posted so I wanted it to be a good one — STELLA’S NURSERY! I also figured I better share it before it is no longer a nursery. Her room is so sweet and exactly what I pictured for a little girls’ nursery. You know I LOVE GOLD so that had to be an element of the design and PINK of course for a baby girl!
paint
Paint is usually the easiest way to transform a space! The color previously was a light grey so nothing wrong with it BUT I just really wanted a light pink color to help with feel I was trying to achieve. I went with Intimate White by Sherwin-Williams (confusing that is is called white, I know). I fell in love with the softness of the color.
In addition to the walls, I painted a few things gold! I used my favorite gold spray paint, of course to paint the existing curtain rod, screw covers on the shelves and THE CRIB! I did the curtain rod to save some money because for the most part it is covered up by the curtains since they are closed the majority of the time to block out light.
I opted to spray paint the screw covered on the acrylic shelves to give them a high-end look and it was SO easy to do! I’ve seen so many shelves with brass details but BOY are they pricey. I found mine on Amazon and easily transformed it into the look I was going for.
Now the crib, this one took SOOOO many coats of gold spray paint — like maybe a dozen or more. In the end, I would recommend just buying a gold crib if that is what you want but I already had this one from Mikey and it was blue so I thought I would give it a shot! I used a clear coat to seal it but teething babies can chew through anything!!!! The crib itself is affordable and comes in lots of colors if you like the look of it!
accesories
A few key accessories really make Stella’s room. Starting with her name sign above her crib. I knew I wanted a sign like that the second I saw it. If you don’t know, Stella Lynne is named after my maternal grandmother, Stella and my mom, Lynne so featuring both names in the sign was very important to me. Using the sign in the backdrop for Stella’s 1st birthday photographs was also a fun use for it!
I already had the mirror above the changing station from Mikey’s nursery but I thought by adding the garland it would add some flare to it. I used small command hooks to hold it in place.
Another thing on the changing station, is the wicker basket to hold all the necessities for diaper changes. I wanted to be able to conceal all that stuff since I was just using a dresser versus an actual changing table.
Her room would not be complete without our nightly prayer displayed and what makes this piece so special is that I made it among friends at an AR Workshop.
Hope you enjoyed the tour of Stella’s room. Let me know if you any questions about it or decorating for your little ones!
